Micah 5:1-7:20; Revelation 7:1-17; Psalm 135:1-21; Proverbs 30:5-6

God always cares about our heart. When Israel’s heart had turned from Him, they attempted to placate God by giving offerings to Him. As you can imagine, it did not work! When our heart has strayed from God only giving our heart back to Him will work.

Here is what God says that He requires of us: First, God wants us to do right. In every situation we face, there is a right way and a wrong way. God simply asks us to make the right choices, which will bring Him glory. In the simple acts and the big actions, always seek to please God by doing right. Doing right may not be popular but it is beneficial.

Next, God says that we should love mercy! How countercultural is that! As humans, we love judgment! We love to convict and condemn others. God says we should not love judging people but forgiving people! How committed are you to criticism or mercy? We all need mercy! Why not be known for mercy and forgiveness instead of gossip and criticism? It pleases God when we show mercy!

Lastly, God wants us to walk humbly with Him. Can we let God lead us and we just follow Him? God really does know the best path for us to take. Rather than try to break away from God, what would happen if we trusted God’s leading and let Him show us the way?

These things please God and will bless us! Let’s always keep them in mind— daily!
