December 21

Zechariah 1:1-21; Revelation 12:1-17; Psalm 140:1-13; Proverbs 30:17

When we have missed the mark and are feeling hesitant about coming back to God, what is the process we use to come back to Him? As an act of his love, God made it easy to restore our relationship if we don’t block the process.

The enemy will trick us into thinking that God is mad at us or somehow God has given up on us and, in response, we run away from God. But, we cannot stay away from God because our heart longs to be with Him. The devil will erect hurdles and barriers to trick us into thinking that God does not want us to return to Him. But the truth is, God wants us back more than we want to come back. He made us to be in relationship with Him. We are most at peace and in purpose when we are connected to our Heavenly Father. So how do we get back to God?

God says the process is simple: just come back! God takes us just as we are and welcomes us back to Him. Once we have returned to Him, then he starts cleaning us up and removing all the pollution from our lives.

Don’t live another moment away from God! If you need to return, do it today. Get back into worship service, rejoin small groups, get reconnected with other believers who really love God. God’s family is not complete without you!
